Reflecting on 2019, goals of 2020

This is a cross-post from my Patreon! Consider backing me there for even more content from yours truly.

I feel good about all my accomplishments this year, so I wanted to do a small write-up to remind myself of everything I’ve done, as well as getting a chance to tell you all my plans for 2020!

In 2019, I:

  • Finished the first draft of my high fantasy, SWAN SONG
  • Participated in and won my first NaNoWriMo
  • Plotted a novella and another novel
  • Opened a Patreon (hello! Thank you!!) and got to share short stories, my WIP, and blog posts with a great audience
  • Got a new day job at a place I’m passionate about
  • Became a beta editor for NEOKOSMOS (which you should also check out)
  • Made new amazing friends through the Twitter Writing Community

And that’s just job/writing based accomplishments! My health has improved (and worsened, and improved again, it’s a cycle), I have two needy cats, and read a ton of great novels. I am ready to make 2020 a good year.

Some plans for 2020 include:

  • Coming up with a new working title for THE UNBOUND MAGE (haha)
  • Edits and Draft 2 of SWAN SONG
  • Digital zines (I’d like to get 2-5 done)

I’d also LOVE to do a physical zine (or print a digital one), but I’ll need to re-learn how to make content for print and figure out shipping/pricing, so we’ll see if that happens or not. I do have a lot on my plate, and want to keep my expectations reasonable.

Hope you all have a wonderful New Year’s Eve and Day! I’ll be spending it playing games with friends and watching Lord of the Rings, my annual tradition.

Sending magic your way,
Ashe Mocaw
